FIRST GUEST: Eleanor Blayney, Consumer Advocate for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Board of Standards
This can be a pretty stressful time of the year due to those tedious income tax returns. But financial planners say there are things we can do to ease that stress.
April is Financial Stress Awareness Month, and the CFP Board of Standards just released the results of a survey revealing the most common causes of financial stress.
Debt topped the list of sources of financial stress. Managing debt and striving for good credit is essential for stress-free finances.
The survey also revealed that having a solid financial plan and having more knowledge about finance are two ways to reduce stress.
But the biggest thing a person can do for him or herself is to have a solid budget. Knowing where your money goes is the first step to keeping control of your finances.
